Alex Jaynes
is a designer and furniture maker who grew up in Knoxville. He earned a degree in Industrial Design from Auburn University, after which he helped design rockets for NASA. He made the move to full-time woodworking in 2011 and honed his craft for several years in Boston as a member of Charlestown Furniture Makers. In 2017, he returned to his hometown and moved into a historic grist mill with his partner, Kelly. He loves problem solving, old tools, hand-cut joinery, and smart design that balances style and function.
